David B Mitchell, holds the highest ratings bestowed by the Martindale-Hubbell and Avvo attorney rating services, and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He is a member of the Florida Bar Family Law Section and the Dade County (FL) Bar Association, where he served on the Family Court and vice-chair of the County Courts Committees. He previously served as president of the Coral Gables Bar Association, where he was also the editor-in-chief of the Gables Lawyer, and is a recipient of the President's Award.
Mr. Mitchell is a recipient of the distinguished service award from the Dade County Bar Association for his past service as volunteer counsel in the Guardian Ad Litem Program. Mr. Mitchell is also a member of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies. He is a Florida supreme court certified family court mediator, qualified arbitrator, qualified guardian ad litem in Family Court and mediator/arbitrator for the Florida Bar in grievance and fee dispute matters. He is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Collaborative Family Law Institute.

Currently, he is listed as a "Top Lawyer in South Florida (2013)" appearing in the National Law Journal and other publications. On family law topics, he co-authored Inside the Minds: Family Law Strategies in Florida (2012), published by Thomson Reuters.
